Kevin Burke, Solo • August 17-19

Kevin Burke plays a number of solo gigs in the Bay Area this month. Kevin’s new album is indeed a departure, featuring two great players sharing their musical interests – one steeped in traditional Irish music while the other is a veteran California rocker. Kevin has teamed up with guitar whiz John Brennan from San Diego, an LA sideman to the stars back in the ’70s (Graham Nash, Chris Hillman of The Byrds, Poco). Versions of 60’s & 70’s rock ‘classics’, blues and country tunes, two Bach minuets, and some re-imagined jigs and reels. Hear Kevin’s song “London Town,” an affectionate look back at the post-WWII world of Irish immigrants.
