Eileen Ivers in Concert – Connecting The Roots, Marin Civic Center

The 13th Annual Irish-American Crossroads Festival is pleased to present, on the Opening Night of the Festival, Eileen Ivers and her band for an electrifying night of imaginative and virtuosic Irish music that brings to light the influences of the Celtic tradition on roots music, bluegrass, Cajun, Appalachian and Americana music. Do not miss this remarkable evening on the main stage of the Marin Civic Center on March 4, 2016.

Ivers is a Grammy-awarded, Emmy-nominated fiddler who is a nine-time All-Ireland fiddle champion and the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today.  Eileen’s most recent work is the creation of, Beyond the Bog Road, a multimedia concert of music, story, dance and film which celebrates the journey of the Irish immigrant. Eileen’s performances showcase how Irish music and dance have integrated with various roots music of North America to create one of the richest cross-fertilizations of folk music styles in the world.

Called “the Jimi Hendrix of the violin”, Eileen is a former member of Cherish the Ladies and has performed as a cast member of Bill Whelan’s production, Riverdance. She has also performed with Sting, Patti Smith, Hall & Oates as well as with symphonies, for Presidents and Royalty, worldwide.
