The United Irish Cultural Center presents a one-man play about Tom Crean, the Irish man who went to the Antarctic three times with Shackleton and Scott. “Discovering Antartica: Heroic Tales of Shackleton, Crean and Scott” is set during The Golden Age of Antarctic Exploration (1901–16). Discover the riveting true stories of Shackleton and Scott through the eyes of Tom Crean who was at the center of three of the most daring & challenging expeditions to the great white continent – including Shackleton’s ill-fated Endurance expedition. The intimate piece of theatre, performed by Aidan Dooley, re-enacts the heroic endeavours with a blend of drama, humor and rich Irish storytelling. more
