Singer/songwriter and folk musician Kyle Alden is noted for his award-winning settings of the poetry of the great Irish poet W.B. Yeats. He has performed at the Freight & Salvage, Berkeley and City Winery, Napa (opening for Paul Brady) and Symphony Space in New York (with Mick Moloney and Athena Tergis), among many others.
Kyle’s new CD, Down in the West Volume 2, explores Americana landscapes, revisiting lively folk songs from the American, Irish and British traditions, interleaved with new original songs and instrumental tunes played on fiddle, banjo and guitar. Come celebrate the launch of the new release in what will be a grand evening of song, poetry, harmony singing and great acoustic music.
Kyle will be joined by special guests Susan Spurlock (mandolin and vocals), Robert Powell (pedal steel guitar and vocals) and Markie Sanders (upright bass).
Tickets are $15 advance/$18 at the door. Advance tickets are available at the link below, and doors open one hour before show time. The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own adult beverage with no additional corkage fee.
